SHREC Annual Workshop – January 2023

The NSF/ICURC SHREC Annual workshop returned to an in-person format. It was a two-day virtual event focusing on results from SHREC student-led research projects on space computing, high-performance computing, and resilient computing in mission-oriented environments.

Hundreds of experts in the areas of space computing, high-performance computing, and resilient computing met as part of the NSF Center for Space, High-Performance, and Resilient Computing (NSF SHREC), funded by the National Science Foundation under the Industry-University Cooperative Research Center Program. SHREC is a national research center and consortium consisting of four universities: University of Pittsburgh, University of Florida, Brigham Young University, and Virginia Tech and more than 30 members from industry (e.g., Intel, Dell), government organizations (e.g., NASA, NSA), and research labs (e.g., MIT Lincoln Labs, Sandia National Labs, Laboratory for Physical Sciences).

At the UF site, Dr. McNair is the project group lead for “F2-22: System Architecture Acceleration for Mission-Critical Computing,” which currently has 4 industry-sponsored projects.
